Energy independence....
Hi Everybody.....I heard today that GWB was in Saudi Arabia talking the the Saudis about doing something to lower the price of gas here....Talk about Hot air...and a waste of time...It is very simple what needs to be done .....BTW they said NO ....SO
1). Start drilling in Anwar ....the area we need to drill in is so small it isnt funny....they're talking 2000 acres out of 1,000,000+ acres or let me put it in terms you can understand....take a 4ft by 8 ft sheet of plywood ( that represents the million+ acres) put a put a standard coffee saucer in one corner (that represents the 2000 acres) not to mention it's only light there 55 days a year...no one goes there we(the US ) tap the oil there and we can tell the saudis, Mr. Chaves ,and anybody else that doesn't like us to PISS OFF...and we can sell them oil.....not that we will.
2). BUILD MORE REFINERIES.....we havent built any in like 25-30 years ...all we've done is expand the few we do have into these huge places that if something happens at one (like a fire or hurricane or other distaster the frickin price spikes ....DUH there is plenty of oil coming in to this country we just cant refine it fast enough to meet the demand hence supply goes down and the price goes UP....WAY THE HELL UP....There shouldnt be 4 dollar gas in this country....
3). Start drilling offshore for the same reason as in number 1 .... Hell man the chinese and the Cubans (100miles) already are out there ...and if the rigs are out that far who is going to see them from shore anyhow....
4). get rid of all the different types of gas which are blended of this area or that area....IF this reformulated is go for one area it's good for the whole frickin' country.....all we need is your basic unleaded, midgrade and preminium unleaded that way there is plenty of gas for everyone.....
as for generating electricity there are 2 ways to go coal which we have more than enough to last the next 1,000 years just in this country alone if not more.....but we could go and build more Nuclear plants....just take a look at the countries of France,Japan,Germany,England who get anywhere between 25 to 75 percent of there electricity from nuke plants all without major accidents....
IF you want to be energy independant WAKE UP AMERICA and GIT R DONE.....WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY WE CAN REBUILD IT....IT'LL BE BETTER ONLY IF WE WANT IT TO BE ......we need to take the lead on this we have some of the greatest minds in the world we just need to use them....
