Thoughts on HSR

Hi All, My thoughts on High Speed Rail are that it is all well and good if one would really ride it. I'm also thinking that before jumping to HSR we should establish regular passenger rail first. I'm thinking yeah passenger rail to Madison (our State Capitol) , to Green Bay and the Fox Valley Cities( Appleton,Oshkosh,Fond Du Lac). It might mean upgrading the tracks currently in use by the CN and the CP to do this but that could be done with their help....it would benefit them also as then their trains could go faster also.....it might also mean double tracking areas to facilitate efficient train movement. We could also do joint stuff with Illinois to do Chicago to Madison through Janesville too. Just my thoughts......Gary
